OktoBEERfest surprise #1: Victory Zeltbier!

Steve German and our friends at Victory Brewing have given us a very special treat this OktoBEERfest. Every year of OktoBEERfest, we've enjoyed Victory's FestBier traditional Märzen, and this year will be no exception as we'll have it once again. But, this year, we'll also have a "secret" second Oktoberfest beer from Victory.

Victory Zeltbier is a limited edition beer that is made each year for Victory's taproom in their Downingtown, PA brewery and for the Downingtown Fall Fest. It's a limited edition (only 100 kegs!) modern-style Oktoberfest beer; "Zelt" means "tent" in German and is a reference to the famed tents of Munich Oktoberfest. The beer is delicious (Don and I got to sample some on our recent trip to visit Victory), and if you're not in Downington, PA, you're not getting any!

BUT, thanks to the generosity of Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski, founders of Victory (both of whom studied brewing in Germany), Steve German, Victory's VP Sales, and all the brewers at Victory, Shultzy's is the ONLY other place in the world, you can enjoy Victory Zeltbier in 2013! Victory shared some of their precious kegs with us and we'll be enjoying them as long as they last. You won't want to miss this one!!!

Steve from Victory will also be here at our grand OktoBEERfest party on October 5th to tap a wooden keg of Zeltbier for us all to enjoy.
